In Ireland....ahhhh....awesome!

Hey everyone, We arrived in Ireland today. We rented a car and drove it down to a small town on the coast outside of Dublin called Wicklow. Lance did a great job driving...I however, kept freaking out and yelling out "BRAKES!". Yeah, driving on the left makes Amy nervous. Lance thought it was a blast. Typical :)

Here are a few pics from the British Museum taken yesterday and Wicklow today in Ireland; more to follow soon!

Love Lance and Amy

PS) Ollie we miss you very much but it sounds like you are having a blast on your vacation. Do be nice to your Grandparents and dont bark too much. Hugs.

This is the Bed and Breakfast we are staying at tonight. Finally hot water and our own bathroom and no pain in the back cots!!! It's a beautiful place with a fantastic view of the ocean from our room. We will post a pic later.

The above two pics are both of Amy and then of I infront of the ruins of Black Castle here in Wicklow. Supposedly it was built by a European named Fitzgerald in around 1070 something AD. It's right on the cliffs of the ocean.
The Rosetta Stone written with the same passage of writing in two Egyptian language scripts and Greek. It was the first time historians were able to decypher hieroglyphics. Thus, making it one of the most important archaeological finds in history. It was created in 196 BC, discovered by the French in 1799 at Rosetta, a harbor on the Mediterranean coast in Egypt.
Gallery at the entrance to the British Museum. We spent 4 1/2 hours exploring all the sites on Thursday the 3rd. We figured it would take us a month to see everything in detail. It was HUGE.
We took an audio tour. It highlighted the "Top 50" pieces in the museum. Amy liked.
"Ginger" is a 5000 year old mummy. He still had his hair on the top of his head; it was red, hence the name. If you look close you can see the tufts just above his ear and on top of his forehead.
British Museum: Assyrian Winged Bull. The huge Assyrian Winged Bulls are from the city and palace of Khorsabad, built for the Assyrian king Sargon II in 8th Century.
A huge monument of Ramesses the Great. The third Egyptian Pharoah of the Nineteenth Dynasty.

Amy and Lance,

Hope all is well. Things on the homefront are going good. Dolores thinks about you everday. They are purchasing a house with Krista and Steve. Dolores asks if you can get her a spoon from Ireland.
( small pleasures in life ) Thank you for keeping us informed. We love you.

I just got home...thought about you guys on your departure day...really missed you yesterday when I needed a big hug and a coffee from a good friend. Yes, post holiday blues have already set in. My trip was good though...lots of sun. I got my hair braided. How cheesy and tacky, but mom wanted me to so whatever. Anyway, looks like you guys are having a blast and enjoying every moment which is awesome. Miss you lots. Love Jen
